I've been coming to this bookstore since I was a kid. We lived in Eastern KY and Joseph-Beth was one of the fun places my grandmother would insist we go after a trip to Lexington to see one of her healthcare specialists. Although details have changed over the years, it's consistently offered a wide range of books in a beautiful space. On my most recent visit they had an entire wall of clearance books, and naturally I walked away with an armful. This store has books for every kind of reader--and a gigantic kids' section downstairs. A good range of gift items too, including fun socks, soaps and lotions, etc. Well worth a visit to Lexington Green for this local treasure.

If you are looking for a bookstore, this is one of the largest, most comprehensive collection of books outside a li library I have seen. The location was clean and well maintained. The staff was nice and professional. I think you could find any book you wanted here.

Greatest bookstore I’ve ever been in! Wide array of books and authors, bookish merch (book sleeves, genre themed candles, bookmarks, stickers, totes, etc). As well as unique home goods and decors. What a lovely store!

Always a great evening when I get to have dinner and go to Joseph Beth Booksellers after. I grew up as a kid with my dad taking me to my hometown’s Barnes and Noble after we would eat out on a friday night. This is giving me all those fuzzy memories and more. (I have my own money now and can buy coffee too!) I LOVE that they bring local Kentucky authors in to speak and sign books. I have so many personalized, hardcover copies from authors whom I adore and was able to speak to and shake hands with. (Hello Silas House!) I’m so grateful for their creative events as well. Seemingly a very creative team behind this book selling institution.

Great indie bookstore in a strip mall atmosphere . It's airey and suburbany, in this case, contents are what matter. Although there aren't squeaky wood floors and brick walls, there's a great book selection with plenty of nooks and seating to delve into the books. Nice selection of gifts throughout, which are arranged by vendor and interest. A fantastic spot to spend some time. Definitely recommend.

This is hands down one of the best bookstores I’ve ever visited. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but you definitely get your money’s worth. I love the cozy stands, the little café, and the overall decor. You can even sit by the fire and enjoy a good book. The kids’ section downstairs is fantastic too. It’s definitely a must-see! I also love the collection of autographed books—they’re such a unique find. And the spicy labels in the romance section? Perfect for those who love a bit of heat in their reading, offering a peek into how intense the books are before committing.

Joseph-Beth is a fantastic local bookstore, and Lexington is lucky to have it. Nobody does a better job supporting local readers and writers. The booksellers are the best, and the location itself is visually stunning. It's connected with a cafe and coffee shop with scenic views of a pond! Check it out!

Beautiful and full book/gift shop! We spent hours in there browsing everywhere. Nice bistro as well. Good prices, lots of genres, and lots of places to sit which is great. There’s also a baby changing station in the restroom. Love this place and will be back!

Lovely place to shop and browse. Quality gift items and are reasonably priced. Worth the drive from Louisville and could easily spend the day just in this store alone. Sales personnel in the store were sweet, friendly and helpful. The food in the Bistro was excellent right down to the desserts. We had lunch there. We later returned in the afternoon to get dessert. The only downside were the servers at lunchtime. You can tell some people have been there so long they don't realize their own body language that they reflect onto the customers. Otherwise, it was a wonderful way to spend the day in Lexington.

I had a wonderful experience at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington today. This is an amazing bookstore with a great atmosphere, a huge selection of books, and very helpful staff. I visited specifically to look for geography books and was impressed by the variety and quality of the collection. I ended up buying a couple of excellent books and really enjoyed browsing through the store. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better. If you are in Lexington and love books, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended for anyone looking for academic books, leisure reading, or simply a great bookstore experience.
